Snappy Turtles

Snappy Turtles are one of my favorite cookies.  Thanks Grandma Aiken for this wonderful recipe.

Blend:

1c shortening

1c brn sugar

Add:

3 eggs

1t vanilla

1t maple flavoring

Add:

1/2t baking soda

1/2t salt

3c flour

Mix well, form balls and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 mins.  Let cool, then frost with chocolate frosting

Thanks to my mom for the best chocolate frosting recipe.

1/2 c butter

1/2 c cocoa

2 3/4 c pwdr sugar

1 egg

1t vanilla

3-4 T hot water

Melt butter, add cocoa and blend.  Add pwdr sugar, egg, and vanilla; beat until smooth.  Add hot water 1T at a time until creamy and easy spreading consistency.
