Once you try this homemade stuffing, you will never make it out of the box again!  It will change your Thanksgiving dinner life...

Homemade Stuffing
3/4 cup butter
1/2 onion, finely chopped
Celery chopped (optional)
Two packages Jimmy Dean sausage
1 and 1/2 loaves white bread (Grandma Sycamore's works great)
1 can chicken broth
Salt, pepper, sage and poultry seasoning

Night before or morning of:
Cut bread in cubes, place back in bag and leave open overnight to dry out
To make:
In saucepan, melt butter and add onion and celery until browned.
In separate saucepan, cook sausage and drain liquid fat.
Mix 1/2 bread cubes in butter/onion mix and other 1/2 in sausage, brown.
Add salt, pepper, sage and poultry seasoning to both saucepans to taste
(about 1 tsp of each in both pans)
Coat a 9x13 pan with butter.
Pour both bread mixtures into pan and mix together.
Sprinkle about 1/3 cup chicken broth over top (don't need much!)
Cover with foil, back at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Thank you Mom for sharing such a delicious side dish!
